Bio:

Joy Entered the real estate business nearly 30 years ago with a passion to succeed, and to help make ends meet as a single mother of 3.  After a few years of selling, moved her way up to a management position at Vacation Properties Network and eventually purchased that branch and renamed it Annandale Properties, Inc.  Back in the early 90’s Joy’s office was on Annandale’s Main Street.  In the late 90’s she expanded her business, moved to Hwy. 55 and did a remodel to house the largest independly owned real estate company in Wright County.

Over the years, joy has achieved many accomplishments in the real estate industry, but the greatest achievement of all is the loyalty of clients.  They say repeat business is a measure of one’s success.  If that is true, then the fact that Joy has worked with the children of many of her repeat clients brings that definition of success to a whole new level! 

Joy has been active in the real estate business not only as an Owner/Broker and agent, but has also worked to advance the profession.  She has served on the Minnesota Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) Ethics and Professional Standards Committee for many years, sat on Corinna Township’s Land Use Task Force, an appointment she received from the Wright County Commissioners, and Co-founded Carlson Investment Properties with her husband and “silent” real estate partner, Dave Carlson.  Joy also received her MBA of Real Estate from the University of St. Thomas.

In addition, Joy makes time to be a supportive grandmother to her 4 grandchildren.  Family is extremely important to Joy which generated her motto of “take care of your clients like you would your family if they were buying or selling a home”

And speaking of Children, one of Joy’s daughters, Marci Segner has been Joy’s real estate partner for the past 10 years.  Joy has enjoyed being able to pass along her years of experience to someone that she knows shares her same pursuit of excellent.  To Joy, This is a family business.  Not only are she and Marci involved in the industry, but Joy’s son Pat is also a Realtor.

Marci has always had a passion for real estate, but started in a different capacity.  Marci received her BA from St. Cloud State University and also completed her MBA in Real Estate thru the University of St. Thomas.  She worked for the Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation her first 6 years out of college - Primarily in closings and acquisitions. 

Although, she loved her work, she and Joy always talked about teaming up and taking Joy’s company to a new level.  In 1998, Marci moved back to her Hometown and, together, did just that.  In December 2005, they again took Annandale Properties to a new level and purchased a RE/MAX franchise.  They loved the idea of RE/MAX because it too, is a family run business, and enabled them to remain independently owned and operated. 

Marci and her husband, Andy, live in the Annandale area raising their 2 -1/2 year old twins James Andrew and Julia Leota Joy.  Marci definitely understands the demands of life and the value of spending time wisely.  Making good use of time is one of her trademarks.  “Respect for your client must come first.”  After all, helping people buy and sell homes is not just a job, it is a family tradition.  And for Marci and Joy that tradition is the pursuit of excellence.
